Heavy rainfall predicted in Odisha, MP, Goa, Chhattisgarh in coming days

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted isolated "heavy to very heavy" and "extremely heavy" rainfall over a number of states in the coming days.
The Met department has predicted "heavy to very heavy" and "extremely heavy" rainfall over parts of Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Goa and Gujarat in next few days.
In Odisha, extremely heavy rains are predicted on June 30 and July 1. Chhattisgarh could witness heavy rains on July 1 and 2, and south Madhya Pradesh on July 2 and 3.
Konkan and Goa, central Maharashtra, Marathwada in Maharashtra and the Gujarat region are likely to witness enhanced rainfall activity once again from July 3.
According to the official statement, a low-pressure area is very likely to form over north Bay of Bengal and the neighbourhood during the next 24 hours.
The low-pressure area is likely to become more marked and may concentrate into a depression during the subsequent 48 hours, a statement from Met says.
"Scattered low and medium clouds with embedded intense to very intense convection layover central and the north Bay of Bengal, south Arakan Coast and the central Andaman Sea," the statement read.
Northern Limit of Monsoon (NLM) continues to pass through Dwarka, Ahmedabad, Bhopal, Jabalpur, Pendra, Sultanpur, Lakhimpur Kheri, Mukteshwar and Lat.
