Munugode MLA Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy faced a piquant situation when some of his followers raised slogans against him at a meeting called to announce his decision to leave Congress and join the BJP.
At a meeting held on the outskirts of the city on Thursday, several party workers raised “Congress Zindabad” slogans in his presence and walked out of the meeting. Later, they made it clear that they would continue in the party and criticized Mr. Reddy for leaving the Congress that gave him so much.
Mr. Rajagopal Reddy explained to the workers that joining the BJP was the only way to take on CM KCR and his ‘undemocratic’ rule. He said that his intention was not to pressurize anyone to join the BJP but only to explain the circumstances.
