Five-time Sriganganagar MP Nihal Chand Meghwal on Saturday threatened to stage a dharna during the opening session of the new Lok Sabha against the Punjab government for failing to prevent river water contamination.
Speaking to the media on Saturday, Meghwal said his top priority would be to “force” the Punjab government to prevent contamination of river water. He had recently spoken to Gajinder Singh Shekhawat (Jodhpur MP), Union Cabinet Minister for Jal Shakti, on the issue and requested him to issue strong directions to the Punjab government.
