As drought hits Maharashtra, Shiv Sena says financial aid failed to reach villages, seeks help from Centre

 As the state of Maharashtra has been reeling under acute drought, the Shiv Sena has appealed to the BJP-ruled Centre to provide financial aid.
The Shiv Sena, in its mouthpiece Saamana asked the central government to take note of 9000 villages in the state where, it said, financial help has not yet reached.
The BJP’s ally also held a meeting to discuss measures on how to tackle drought issues on Tuesday.
The Centre has so far released relief fund of Rs. 4248.59 crore from the National Disaster Response Fund to the Maharashtra government for taking drought mitigation measures, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis had said.
