The Nationalist Congress Party took a severe beating the 2019 Lok Sabha polls. After the results, Pawar posted a rather self-motivating post sending a signal out to the world and party workers that they are not down and out. “While I haven’t won, I haven’t lost either,” is the blithe retort. Pawar’s daughter Supriya Sule doubled her victory in their home town of Baramati, retaining their bastion. Though Kanchan Kul, her opponent of the Bharatiya Janata Party, put up a formidable fight.
