Sharad Pawar’s grand-nephew Rohit likely to join politics, contest upcoming Assembly elections

After Parth Pawar, reports have surfaced saying that the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar’s grand-nephew Rohit is likely to join politics.
According to the Hindustan Times, 33-year-old Rohit joined accompanied Sharad Pawar during his ongoing tour of drought-hit areas of Maharashtra. Rohit told Hindustan Times, “I was in business and social sector for the past twelve years. While working in the social sector, I realised if one has to make a difference to society, politics is the way. That’s why I decided to join it. I am fortunate to get guidance from Pawarsaheb. I am observing and learning.”
Rohit further told the leading daily, “I am interested in contesting the Assembly elections. My name is being mentioned in connection with different constituencies in Pune and Ahmednagar districts. It is up to the party leadership to decide whether to field me or not. I will continue to do my work.” A senior NCP leader told the Hindustan Times that Rohit may contest the coming Assembly elections from Pune or Ahmednagar district if the NCP chief gives him a go-ahead.
