Disgruntled Congress MLAs unlikely to support Ramesh Jarkiholi for now
Congress MLAs, who are unhappy over denial of Cabinet berths, are unlikely to support the former Minister Ramesh Jarkiholi, rebel Congress MLA for Gokak who has threatened to tender his resignation as an MLA, at least till May 23, when the Lok Sabha election results will be out.
To chalk out a strategy in the wake of discontent in the Congress, Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy, Deputy Chief Minister G. Parameshwara, and Energy Minister D.K. Shivakumar held an hour-long discussion at the Chief Minister’s residence on Thursday.
Congress MLA for Kagwad Shrimmanth Patil called on Mr. Kumaraswamy and ruled out any possibility of him supporting Mr. Jarkiholi. Mr. Patil told reporters that he would not resign from the Congress.
