Nine Congress candidates, including leader of opposition Paresh Dhanani and former Union minister Bharatsinh Solanki, and four BJP nominees, filed their nomination papers for the Lok Sabha elections on Wednesday, just a day before submission of nominations ends.
Dhanani filed his nomination for Amreli Lok Sabha seat, and will face-off against MP and BJP candidate Naran Kachhadia. Former union minister Solanki submitted his papers for Anand Lok Sabha on Wednesday. He is pitted against BJP candidate Mitesh Patel, who is an accused in a 2002 riot case, and is also CMD of Laxmi Protein Products, which sells the famous ‘Laxmi’ tur dal.
