Actor Sumalatha, who is enthusiastic to plunge into electoral politics from Mandya Lok Sabha constituency, on Monday said she would announce her final stand on March 18.
The actor, wife of the former Congress Minister late M.H. Ambareesh, met local Congress leaders in Nagamangala taluk of Mandya district to seek their opinion/suggestions on her political ambitions.
Ms. Sumalatha said she had been facing severe pressure from her husband’s supporters to contest the elections. While she has opened a Facebook page, her supporters have launched “an online volunteers enrolment drive” to help her reach the goal.
