Employees of All Assam Development Authority Employees Joint Council demand provincialization of services

A delegation of the All Assam Development Authority Employees Joint Council (AADAEJC), led by president Banikanta Boruah and secretary Ratul Bora, submitted a memorandum on Sunday to Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal in Dibrugarh.
The memorandum explained about the sorry state of the employees of the development authorities of the State. The memorandum stated that the employees of the development authorities receive their salary from the revenue collected for issue of NOC for construction of buildings and land sale. But the amount so collected is not sufficient to pay for the salary of the employees and as such the government extended meagre grants-in-aid for implementation and zoning regulations of the master plan.
However, the AADAEJC expressed deep concern over the fact that the development authorities had been deprived of any financial grants since the last two years for which the employees too had been deprived of their salary since the last two years. The AADAEJC urged the Chief Minister to fulfil their demands like provincialization of their services and preparation of uniform service rule.
While talking to this correspondent over phone, president and secretary of the AADAEJC, Banikanta Boruah and Ratul Bora respectively, said that the Chief Minister took the matter seriously and gave a positive response. They also said that the AADAEJC was in touch with the minister, commissioner, secretaries and director concerned but their demands had not been fulfilled. They expressed the hope that the government would not turn a deaf ear to the legitimate demands of the employees.
