Karnataka legislature session: Coalition govt. braces for one more test of survival

The ruling JD(S)-Congress government is bracing for another test of survival during the legislature session starting Wednesday, with the Opposition BJP continuing to keep the ruling alliance guessing on what ace it has up its sleeve.
In an effort to pre-empt BJP from destabilising it, the ruling partners have issued a whip asking all their legislators to be present at the session. With this, the four rebel MLAs, who had not turned up for the earlier Congress Legislature Party meeting and were said to be in touch with the BJP, will have to either return or face action.
The BJP, which has in the past made many failed bids to destabilise the government, is still hopeful and is learnt to be planning to create trouble during the passage of the budget.
