Big relief- Centre agrees to give extra chance to the candidates of UPSC Preliminary Exam
There is news of relief for the candidates preparing for the preliminary examinations conducted by the Union Public Service Commission.
The Centre had earlier reported to the Supreme Court that candidates who had lost their last chance in the Civil Services' Preliminary Exam due to the Corona epidemic should be given another opportunity.
Letting you know, some of these candidates had lost their last chance, due to their age exceeding the prescribed age limit. In such a situation, the Centre is going to give another additional chance to these candidates.
There were 2,263 candidates whose age limit has expired in 2021. The number of candidates who had this last chance and could not appear in the examination due to any reason is 4,237.
This means that 10,336 candidates require additional opportunities which are 0.97 percent of those who applied for the preliminary examination of 2020.
