First in India- 8 Asiatic lions test positive for Covid 19 in Hyderabad zoo

The second wave of coronavirus has already wreaked havoc in India. People are dying of lack of oxygen, while some are dying on roads.
The shocking fact is that the animals are also getting corona infected. This came after Eight Asiatic lions at Hyderabad’s Nehru Zoological Park have tested positive for the same.
According to the sources in the zoo, the CCMB told the forest authorities over the phone that the RT-PCR tests of these big cats were positive.
The CCMB will carry out deep research to confirm that the strain came from human beings or not. But, the scientists have asked the zoo officials to take precautions.
The zoo authorities are likely to conduct a CT Scan of the lions to know the impact of the infection on their lungs.
