Maharashtra: Anil Deshmukh resigns soon after HC directs CBI probe into 100 crore recovery case

  • Deshmukh has submitted his resignation letter to CM Uddhav Thackeray and his resignation has been accepted.
  • NCP leader and minister Nawab Malik termed the allegations against Deshmukh as baseless, saying that he himself has resigned.
  • On Monday, the Bombay High Court had ordered a CBI inquiry on the petition of former Mumbai Police Commissioner Parambir Singh.
  • The court had said that he could not depend on the police investigation. The CBI has been asked to submit a report in the next 15 days.
