UPSC: Supreme Court denies extra chance for candidates who exhausted 2020's attempt amid pandemic
Many people, including frontline workers, exhausted their last attempt at UPSC examination which was held last year amid the COVID 19 pandemic.
The civil service aspirants asked for an extra attempt to sit for this year's Civil Service (Preliminary) examination. But, the Supreme Court rejected the demand.
The Centre has said that this year, 34,000 candidates are appearing for their last attempt of the preliminary examination, and giving such relaxations won't do justice.
The Centre added that if the relaxations are given then it may block the chances of the candidates appearing for the examination this year.
Letting you know, the petitions were dismissed by the bench of Justices AM Khanwilkar, Indu Malhotra, and Ajay Rastogi.
