Twitter's India Public Policy Director Miss Mahima Kaul has resigned. This came after Twitter faced a backlash from the Indian govt, lawmakers over refusal to block over 250 accounts.
Hashtag #MahimaPleaseDontGo has been trending on Twitter as people expressed grief on her resignation.
A Twitter user wrote, "One more nail in the coffin of Democracy in India. Free Speech is a crime in India now. Morally upright people like @misskaul are forced to resign."
Another user wrote, "MAHIMA Ji is a glorious employee of Twitter but has to resign due to the pressure of the government, raise voice against the government and the wrong policy of Twitter. "
