Former BJP MLA Narendra Mehta has resigned from all party posts.
In a video message shared on social media, Mehta said that he was taking political "sanyas", but would continue doing his social works.
The former MLA said that his deeds in the past had brought a "bad name" to the BJP, and he has now realized that he has no place in the party.
Narendra Mehta said he remained with the BJP in good as well as bad times and tried his best to work for the Mira-Bhayander township.
Mehta was defeated in last year's Maharashtra Assembly polls from the Mira-Bhayander constituency.
