West Bengal CM accuses VHP of religious conversion
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, on Wednesday, accused the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) of indulging in forceful religion conversions of the tribals.
The tribals, she said, were lured by the Parishad into an offer of mass weddings in the name of help in Malda district of the state.
According to sources, she said, “In Malda, they had approached tribals with the offer of a mass wedding for poor women. They are converting people in the name of help.”
Her statement regarding VHP came a day after the Parishad slammed the TMC and Mamata Banerjee of vandalism during the mass wedding.
Banerjee further took on the topic of NRC and NPR and said, “They speak about Pakistan all day. They won’t give food to eat but they want to implement NPR.”
