Reiterating that he will not allow the capital city to be shifted, Jana Sena Party (JSP) president Pawan Kalyan has said such a move is tantamount to opposing Prime Minister Narendra Modi and former BJP national president Amit Shah, because it was with their knowledge and acceptance that Amaravati started to be developed by the TDP government.
He promised the people, particularly farmers who gave their lands for construction of Amaravati, to take up the issue with Mr. Modi if Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy did not give up the “ill-conceived idea” of changing the capital. He cautioned Municipal Administration Minister Botcha Satyanarayana against making hasty statements lest the Volkswagen case in which he was allegedly involved, should return to haunt him.
