Tiwari: Govt CCTV installation claim false

Terming the claim of installing 2, 80,000 CCTV cameras across the national Capital false, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Delhi unit president Manoj Tiwari criticised Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, saying the Government is misleading people at the cost of the public exchequer.
“The amount being spent on advertisements is the money recovered as taxes from the people of Delhi. The reality is that CCTV cameras have not been installed in entire Delhi. Nobody can find these cameras in any area and wherever the cameras have been installed, they are either out of order or no arrangement has been made for their proper maintenance,” he said.

Tiwari said these cameras should have been installed in the first or second year of the tenure of this Government but it has not been installed even after four and half years.
“It clearly shows that the publicity is being done in view of the forthcoming Assembly Elections. All the MPs of Delhi have worked for the development of Delhi with the help of Central Government in their areas whereas Kejriwal Government has tried to obstruct the works related to the welfare of the people,” he added.
He further said that people of Delhi expected healthy and clean Delhi but even after four and a half years of his tenure, the AAP Government has not taken any step to curb the alarming level of pollution in Delhi.
