First flight will land at Mopa airport in 2022: CM

Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Thursday assured the people of Pernem that the first flight at Mopa airport would land in 2022. Sawant was speaking at the 73rd Independence Day function after paying tributes to martyrs at the Martyr’s Memorial at Patradevi. Sawant along with Deputy Chief Minister Manohar Ajgaonkar and Mandrem MLA Dayanand Sopte laid wreaths at the memorial and later unfurled the National Tricolour. The chief minister said, “I assure the people of Pernem that first flight on Mopa airport will land in 2022. The long pending demand of beautification of the Patradevi Martyrs’ Memorial will be completed in next one-and-half year”.
CM vows to provide corrupt-free governance
It may be recalled that in 2016, former Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar had laid foundation stone for the beautification of the Martyrs’ Memorial at Patradevi. However, till date work has not commenced. Freedom fighters highlighted the long pending beautification work. Ajgaonkar, Sopte, Freedom Fighters Chandrakant Pednekar and Pandurang Kunkalekar also spoke on the occasion.
