Karnataka govt formation : Yediyurappa takes oath as Karnataka CM

Drawing the curtains on Karnataka’s political crisis, BS Yeddyurappa Friday took oath as Chief Minister of Karnataka. Yeddyurappa, a three-time chief minister of the state, was sworn in at Raj Bhavan by the Governor. The development comes three days after the JD(S)-Congress coalition government lost a trust vote on the floor of the state legislative Assembly.
“I just met the Governor to form the government and take oath as chief minister. The government has agreed and the oath ceremony will take place between 6 and 6.15 pm,” Yeddyurappa had said.
The Congress in a press conference questioned Karnataka Governor on how BJP has been given a chance to form the government without a majority. Party leader Siddaramaiah alleged, “BJP has the strength of 105 which is way less than the halfway mark. In no way, BJP can form the Karnataka govt if the Constitution is followed.”
