Tripura youngest minister Santana Chakma on Tuesday found time to rush to Silachari village to enjoy the mesmerizing beauty of waterfall located in the hilly areas of Unakoti district.
After publication of news reports about the mesmerizing view of the water falls, the minister took out time on Tuesday to visit the spot near Pecharthal block in Unakoti district.
The minister, who holds the portfolios of Social Welfare, Social Education and Animal Resource Development, promised to initiate immediate steps to develop tourist infrastructure around the area.
She said the water falls, which is in full spate now because of heavy rainfall during the last few weeks, can emerge as a major tourist destination.
She took the risk of traversing through the narrow slippery serpentine track to take a view of the beautiful waterfall on Tuesday. She was amazed by the beauty of the nature.
The path to the waterfall is not smooth as the roads are in poor condition.
People need to cross a stream, and a trunk of a tree has been laid as a makeshift bridge by the villagers.
The waterfall is connected to a tunnel from where the water source is generated and turns into a fall.
Chakma invited Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb to visit the place and explore the beauty.
