CM meets babus over good governance

Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Sunday held a series of meetings with senior bureaucrats including officials of the Indian Administrative Service, the Indian Police Service and the Indian Forest Service.
A number of wide ranging issues were discussed at these meetings with focus on delivering good governance.
The officials were directed to identify key challenges in the departments for improving efficiency, and simplifying the public service delivery with definite timeframe.
The government secretaries as well as head of the departments have also been asked to review all schemes implemented by state departments and look for convergence of the same with centrally sponsored schemes.
The district collectors have been directed to monitor the implementation of the centrally sponsored schemes  in their respective districts.
Furthermore, departments involved in revenue generation were asked to create an action plan for increasing the same.
The meetings further decided that regular visits are to be made by officers to field offices and project sites to understand ground realities.
Redressal of public grievances on priority was also highlighted by the Chief Minister.
Better policing, expediting investigations in respect of sensitive cases and crimes against children and women, along with leveraging information technology for policing was at center-stage of discussion at the meeting with IPS officers.
At the meeting with IFS officers, the Chief Minister stressed on promoting eco as well as wildlife tourism, and disposal of forest rights claims of tribals.
