‘AMMK contesting polls to ensure victory for DMK’

Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami on Sunday said the AMMK was contesting the election in a bid to make the DMK win.
Campaigning for AIADMK candidate P. Mohan in the Ottapidaram constituency, the party co-convener said there was a secret pact between the DMK and the AMMK, though they appeared to be rivals on the outside. "The AMMK is not trying to clinch victory for itself, but wants to help the DMK win," he said.
Mr. Palaniswami said Mr. Dhinakaran tried to block the ‘Two Leaves’ symbol by approaching the High Court. “He was identified and raised by the AIADMK, but is now betraying the party,” he said.
While on the campaign trail, the Chief Minister celebrated his birthday by cutting a cake in Sekkarakudi in the company of his supporters.
The CM said cable TV tariffs would be cut to ₹100 after the election. “Steps would be taken to provide internet connections to all villages in the next six months,” he said.
