Hundreds of medical and dental seat aspirants from different parts of north Karnataka, who could not appear for the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) owing to the delayed arrival of a train, can now heave a sigh of relief.
On Monday evening, Union Minister for Human Resource Development Prakash Javadekar tweeted that students who missed the exam owing to train delay would get another chance to appear for it [exam].
According to sources, the re-examination is tentatively scheduled for May 20, when students from Odisha are also likely to appear for NEET.
However, the fate of students, who missed appearing for the exam owing to last-minute change in the examination centre, is still undecided.
Earlier in the day, Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy chaired a meeting with Chief Secretary T.M. Vijay Bhaskar and senior officials of the Department of Higher Education to discuss the issue of students who missed the examination.
