Mr. Harsh Dev Singh JKNPP Chairman and Former Minister today said that the GOI and State Govt had made the most contemptuous mockery of democracy in the state.
Never before in the history of the state have such kind of theatrics been played in the name of Elections, said Singh. And never have the elections been delayed on such frivolous excuses as advanced by the state and central govt to ECI, he said. He maintained that such meetings seemed to be conducted as a window dressing for the gullible, an exercise to be-fool the masses.
“The fact of the matter was that neither the GOI nor the Governor’s administration wanted to hold the Assembly Elections in the state. While the centre wanted to rule the state by proxy, the state administration did not want to give up having tasted the fruits of power, he observed. He was addressing a press conference in Jammu today.
