Elections 2019: Odisha Records Polling Of 73.08 % Vis-A-Vis 73.49 % In 2014

After the conclusion of four phase polling in Odisha barring the Patkura Assembly segment, Chief Electoral Officer Surendra Kumar today informed that the State has recorded an average polling of 73.08 percent.
While 73.76 per cent votes were polled during the first phase, the voter turnout in the second and third phase was recorded at 72.56 per cent and 71.62 per cent respectively. Similarly, in the last and fourth phase polls, 74.50 per cent polling was registered in the State.
“The highest polling in a Parliamentary constituency was in Nabarangpur which recorded 78.89 % voter turnout, where as lowest voting percentage in a Lok Sabha segment was recorded in Bhubaneswar which saw a dismal 59.60 % turnout,” said CEO Surendra Kumar.
“Among Assembly constituencies, the highest polling percentage of 86.83 % was recorded in Kotpad while the lowest of 43.04 % polling was recorded in Bhubaneswar-Central seat,” he said.
