Maharashtra NCP MLA Hanumant Dolas dies after prolonged illness

Maharashtra NCP MLA Hanumant Dolas died at a hospital here Tuesday due to a prolonged illness, a family member said. He was 57. Dolas represented Malshiras Assembly constituency in Solapur district, in the state Legislative Assembly.
He is survived by his wife, a son and a daughter. Dolas’ last rites will be performed on Wednesday at Akluj town in Solapur district, according to the family member.
He was undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Mumbai. Dolas won his first election in 2004 on an NCP ticket from Malshiras constituency, which he continued to represent until now. Earlier, he had worked as chairman of state-run Sant Rohidas Leather Industries and Charmakar Development Corporation Ltd, and later as director of state housing agency, MHADA for some time.
