As The Hans India had predicted earlier, Gunda Prakash Rao is the new Mayor of Greater Warangal Municipal Corporation (GWMC). He was elected unanimously in the specially convened Council meeting here on Saturday.
He represents 26th Division in the GWMC. Gunda Prakash Rao who was the lone contender for the Mayor post was proposed by the 27th Division Corporator Vaddiraj Ganesh and seconded by 22nd Division Corporator Marupalla Bhagyalaxmi. With no other Corporator in the fray, the Returning Officer Prashanth Jeevan Patil has announced 65-year-old Gunda Prakash Rao elected as the new Mayor.
