Neck and neck fight expected in N Goa

Jiski Lathi Uski Bhains’ goes a famous Hindi proverb, which means ‘Whoever owns the stick eventually owns the buffalo’. This adage fits like a glove to the political field. Interestingly, if one tries to connect this proverb with the North Goa Lok Sabha constituency then it really becomes difficult to identify the candidate with a stick in his hand, or to put it straight, find the one dominating the scenario in this constituency, at this point of time.
And the particular situation exists with just less than 72 hours remaining for the constituency to go to the polls. It is more baffling as the main political battle in the North Goa Lok Sabha constituency is being fought facie ad faciem between two candidates – Shripad Naik of the Bharatiya Janata Party and Girish Chodankar of the Indian National Congress – and is not a multi-cornered contest, even though there are more than two candidates in the fray, in this constituency.
