P C George, Independent legislator representing the Poonjar constituency in Kerala has joined NDA to strengthen the hopes of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
PC George announced his new political alliance in the presence of BJP state president PS Sreedharan Pillai. Sixty seven-year old George, a six-time legislator from Kottayam district was originally with Kerala Congress for several years.
He parted ways with Congress and floated a new party called Janapaksham and won the Poonjar seat defeating all three fronts - LDF, UDF and NDA. Incidentally, his new political avatar took shape the day after his former mentor KM Mani passed away in Kochi.
