Nitin Gadkari on the question of expensive toll on the highway- 'Facilities are not available in free'
- Union Minister Nitin Gadkari on Thursday, while answering questions about toll charges on the National Highway, said that people will have to pay if they want good services like better roads.
- When the minister was asked whether the toll charges on the expressway would make the journey expensive, he said, "If the program has to be held in the AC hall, then the fare will have to be paid."
- He added, "If you want to do it in free, then you can get married even by sitting on the field."
- Gadkari said, "A quality expressway would significantly reduce travel time, fuel cost for travel would also be significantly reduced."
- While inspecting the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway in Haryana, he said, "The Expressway will reduce the travel time to 12 hours. A truck takes 48 hours to reach Mumbai from Delhi, but now it will take only 18 hours."
