While the Maharashtra govt has decided not to celebrate the Dahi Handi festival due to the increasing cases of Corona, the BJP is opposing this decision.
Meanwhile, the people of Dahi Handi Mandal said that when the govt itself does not follow the rules, how can it ask them to do so.
BJP MLA Ram Kadam said, "We will not listen to any anti-Hindu decision of the Maharashtra govt, we will celebrate this festival, if the govt brings rules, then we will celebrate it by following them."
The govt said that the festival of Dahi Handi should not be celebrated due to the increasing cases of coronavirus, this is also true.
It added, "When the people involved in the govt will hold a political rally, gather a crowd outside the house of another leader, and will not follow the rules themselves, then how did the public take these words seriously."
