
Bombay High Court: Homeless, beggars also do some work, govt cannot provide everything
- The Bombay High Court on Saturday said that the homeless and begging people should also do some work.
- It said that the state govt cannot provide them everything. The court made this observation while disposing of a PIL seeking to provide nutritious food to the poor thrice a day.
- A bench of Chief Justice Dipankar Dutta and Justice GS Kulkarni was hearing a plea by Brijesh Arya.
- The PIL asked a direction to the BMC to provide three times food, pitcher water, house, and clean toilets to the poor.
- On this, the BMC told the court that with the help of many NGOs, food packets are given to such people in the city.
