UP: Party MLAs and MPs united to defeat BJP candidate in Unnao
- The elections for the post of District Panchayat President are currently going on in Uttar Pradesh, in Unnao. The party first nominated Arun Singh as a candidate and removed him on protest.
- The party launched Bahubali, Ajit Singh's wife Shakun Singh was nominated but Unnao BJP leaders are refusing to accept her as their candidate.
- Arun Singh is close to former BJP MLA rape case convict Kuldeep Sengar, the victim had also named him in the rape case, so his ticket was cut.
- Unnao MP Sakshi Maharaj, Sadar MLA Pankaj Gupta, Safipur MLA Bambaalal Diwakar stayed with Arun Singh instead of their candidate.
