Maharashtra is in a "fit position" to impose President's rule, claims BJP

  • BJP's Maharashtra unit chief Chandrakant Patil today claimed that two more ministers of the state will have to resign within 15 days and that the state is in a "fit position" to impose President's rule.
  • He made this remark a day before suspended policeman Sachin Waje claimed in a letter that former home minister Anil Deshmukh of the state had asked for 2 crore rupees to continue his service in the Mumbai police.
  • Letting you know, senior NCP leader Deshmukh resigned from the post of Home Minister on Monday.
  • The Supreme Court has refused to restrain or interfere in the investigation, saying that the CBI probe against Anil Deshmukh would continue.
  • The top court asked, "What is wrong in this, should such cases not be investigated by an independent investigating agency?"
