Election Commission suspends police officer over the lapse in Mamata Banerjee's security at Nandigram

The Election Commission has today released a report of the incident in Nandigram in which CM Mamata Banerjee was injured.
The report noticed the failure of the police officials who were the in-charge of Mamata Banerjee's security.
The Election Commission has now suspended the police officer for the lapse in security that led to the accident.
EC said that Vivek Sahay IPS, Director Security shall be removed from the post of Director Security and be placed under suspension immediately.
It further added that the charges against him should be framed soon within a week for failing in his primary duty as Director Security to protect the Z+ protectee.
