Election Commission suspends police officer over the lapse in Mamata Banerjee's security at Nandigram

  • The Election Commission has today released a report of the incident in Nandigram in which CM Mamata Banerjee was injured.
  • The report noticed the failure of the police officials who were the in-charge of Mamata Banerjee's security.
  • The Election Commission has now suspended the police officer for the lapse in security that led to the accident.
  • EC said that Vivek Sahay IPS, Director Security shall be removed from the post of Director Security and be placed under suspension immediately.
  • It further added that the charges against him should be framed soon within a week for failing in his primary duty as Director Security to protect the Z+ protectee.
