Didn't ask him to marry: CJI SA Bobde clarifies on the rape case
- While commenting on the controversy raised on the Supreme Court, the Chief Justice of India SA Bobde said that the court has the highest respect for women.
- He said that the news and activist saw the "will you marry her" comment out of context, just meant to tarnish the image of the court.
- In the context of the case, the Supreme Court said that it had asked the petitioner whether he would marry the complainant.
- The court said that it did not ask him to "go and marry". Bobde said that the comments he made during a hearing of a rape case last week were completely misreported.
- Letting you know, while hearing a case of the govt employee who was alleged for raping a girl, the Supreme Court had asked him whether he wants to marry the victim.
