
Case filed against Sharjeel Usmani for hate speech at Elgar Parishad Conclave
- After the recent Elgar Parishad conclave on January 30, Aligarh Muslim University alumnus Sharjeel Usmani gave a controversial speech.
- After this, BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis had asked for action against Usmani, claiming that he insulted the Hindu community's sentiments.
- Fadnavis had said, "Is there a Mughal rule in Maharashtra that anyone can abuse Hindus & no action is taken?"
- Now, a case has been filed against Usmani in Pune on Tuesday over his speech at the conclave.
- Pune police commissioner Amitabh Gupta said that a case has been registered against him under section 153 (A) of the IPC.
