WB Police Books BJP MP Under Disaster Management Act
- West police have booked BJP MP Subhas Sarkar under different sections of the IPC & Disaster Management Act.
- The MP has been booked for spreading false alarms.
- Another MP, Alipurduars’ John Barla, has complained to Union Home Minister Amit Shah that district administration has put hi, under ‘house arrest’.
- The administration kept this issue secret and did not let anyone know about it.
- Police took action against Sarkar after CM Mamata Banerjee’s warning on April 15 that people spreading misinformation about COVID-19 will face legal action.
