Ashok Chavan Spills the Beans Over Shiv Sena-Congress Alliance
- Senior Congress leader, Ashok Chavan has admitted that party president Sonia Gandhi was not ready to ally with Shiv Sena.
- Chavan further added that the state party leadership had to impress upon the party president to agree to join the govt in Maharashtra.
- "Sonia Gandhi even asked us to take it in writing from the Sena that it would work within the constitutional framework,” he said.
- Chavan also marked that if the alliance violates the constitutional framework, the Congress will walk out of the govt.
- Chavan said that CM Uddhav Thackeray has assured the party that it will follow the principle of secular governance.
