
“Northeast development model for Jammu and Kashmir”
- Continuing its efforts to reach out to the people of Jammu and Kashmir, Union ministers who are visiting the region, reiterated that J&K is an integral part of India.
- The ministers also maintained that the valley would be developed on the lines of what the Centre had done in the northeast in the past five years.
- Union minister of state for home G Kishan Reddy, said the govt is focusing on industrialisation in Kashmir and corruption was the biggest hurdle to the region’s development.
- The setting up of an Anti-Corruption Bureau will ensure that Central funds reach the last man in the line, he said.
- As part of the Government of India’s outreach programme in Jammu and Kashmir, 36 ministers are scheduled to visit the region.
