“violence has no space in democracy”
- Naveen Patnaik condemned the attack on students and teachers.
- CM took to his Twitter handle to state that “violence has no space in democracy and such attacks on students must be condemned unequivocally.”
- Besides, he also appealed the law enforcement agencies to take swift action to apprehend the culprits.
- Violence erupted at Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) on Sunday night after masked men armed with sticks attacked students and teachers and vandalised property on the campus.
- The university was earlier embroiled in a major row over alleged anti-national slogans being raised by some students in February 2016.
