Clearance to Ajit Pawar Not Given During My Tenure: Devendra Fadnavis
- Former CM Devendra Fadnavis has said that the clean chit given to NCP leader Ajit Pawar by the ACB in the Vidarbha irrigation scam was not approved by him.
- Fadnavis said, "The affidavit was not submitted to me or anyone in the government. It’s been done at the ACB level. I had resigned a day earlier.”
- He further said, "how can one affidavit already filed by ACB be contradicted by another affidavit? I totally oppose this and I am sure that the court will not accept this."

- Let us tell you, ACB in its affidavit ruled out the involvement of Pawar in the scam pertaining to irrigation projects in Vidarbha.
- The affidavit was submitted a day after the Fadnavis-Ajit Pawar govt fell on Nov 26, 3 days after they took oath as CM and Dy-CM.
