PMO Issued Orders to State Govt to Submit Reports on Corrupt Officers

  • The PMO has decided that the central government departments must examine and submit corrupt officers every few months.
     
  • This decision has been taken in view of increasing corruption in the government departments and to increase trust and transparency in the system. 
     
  • The PMO has also asked the departments to start an investigation into how often does corrupt officers are able to rise up the ranks.

  • Let us tell you that currently there is an investigation going on against 29 IAS officers, 9 group ‘A’ officers, 1,815 officers from the ‘B’ and ‘C’ groups.
     
  • Apart from this 14 officers from the Railway ministry and 12 officers from Coal ministry and 6 officers from civil aviation ministry are being examined.
