Senior CPI Leader Gurudas Dasgupta Passes Away at 83

The senior leader of Kolkata CPI and former MP Gurudas Dasgupta passed away on Thursday after a prolonged illness.
Gurudas Dasgupta was 83 years old and is survived by his wife and daughter.
Dasgupta was suffering from lung cancer for the last few months.

West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee tweeted 'His contribution to the nation as an MP and trade union leader will be remembered.
Dasgupta was elected to the Rajya Sabha in 1985. He was a Lok Sabha member from Panskura in 2004 and Ghatal seat in 2009.
