
Telangana HC strict to state govt. over hike in Dengue cases
- Telangana High Court has decided to supervise the Dengue issue on a weekly basis.
- Reportedly, the court has taken this decision after realising the failure of the state govt. to reduce the spread of Dengue in the state.
- The High Court has directed the state govt. to form a high level committee that would submit a weekly updated report.
- If things doesn't improve by the end of Nov., state govt. have to pay a compensation of Rs 50 lakh to each of those succumbed to dengue, and recover Rs 5 lakh of this from the salaries of the officers concerned.
- To be noted, there is a 500% increase in the number of dengue cases from 85 in January to 3,809 in September.
