Rajya Sabha MP KC Ramamurthy Quits Congress, Set to join BJP

Rajya Sabha member from Karnataka, KC Ramamurthy announced he has quit as MP and Congress in a bid to be part BJP.
He said that he resigned from the Congress of his own choice and denied pressure from BJP to switch sides.
The resignation of Ramamurthy struck the party’s Karnataka unit as a bolt as it came with zero hints.

With the exit of Ramamurthy, the Congress tally in the Rajya Sabha stands at 45.
The Karnataka leader sent in his letter to the vice-president and Rajya Sabha chairman M Venkaiah Naidu and Congress interim president Sonia Gandhi.
