Committed towards ensuring the country's coastal and maritime security: Defence Minister
- Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said that the centre has absolutely solidified the country's maritime security.
- He was attending an event held to mark the 66th birthday of spiritual leader Mata Amritanandamayi in Kollam, Kerala.
- The Defence Minister also referred to India's air strikes deep inside Pakistani territory earlier this year.
- Few days ago, the country was placed on high alert after intelligence agencies warned of a terror plot to target PM Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and National Security Advisor Ajit Doval.
- Inputs received by the defence ministry also revealed that Jaish-e-Mohammad is plotting suicide attacks on air bases in retaliation for scraping Jammu and Kashmir's special status .
